Post 8: A subject you've enjoyed studying this semester.

 This first semester I've had a lot of subjects that I liked because almost it all adress topic that I found very interesting, but there is two subjects that call my attention over the others and those are biogeography and geography of the soils. On one said, the biogeography study the distribution of the living beings in the time and space, so they are related to the rol of the ecosystems or the history of the species over throughtouth time. One of the last themes that we have seen has been the classification of differents types of plants, animals, mushrooms and bacterys and it has been very entertaining.

On the other side, in geography of the soils is studied the composition of the soils and that server to understand their characteristics and their behaviour. Whitin the matter we have seen one has been the differents layers of soils that exists, know as "horizons", and each of them contains more amounts of minerals, organic matter, clay or sand. That has made me understand the world differently because now when I visit new place or know new animals, I analize them with the subject I have learned and so I feel I learn better.

Post 7: Google Earth.

 One of the most used programs in geography is Google Earth. Maybe the majority know it, but si you don't know, is a program that allow us to explore the planet and see the relief and cities all around the world online and with a clarity that is amazing that reveals the mountains, the rivers, the lakes, the volcanoes and buildings.

This program, at the same time, gives information about the slope of certain sides, as well as the distance between one point and another, amog other characteristics that are those as geographers help us to evaluate or identify the space.

Altought in the career this program is used a lot, I know it before because I liked to enter on it and explore the wonders of the world and discover new places with only move the mouse and some clicks, I really recommend it to travel.

Google Earth works as a program and also as a web page so it's not necesary to download it so here I leave the link for you to use yo can entertain for a while.

Post 6: How can your major make the world a better place.

 The geography has a high impact in the world because it allows us to relate to each other as a society and also to the environment, so that to understand and analyze the different territories from their political, socia, economic and scientific characteristics. About what one can do as a geographer may be participate in a territorial planification from the citys or in studies of environmental assessment or natural risk who could affect the people and the ecosystems in general.

Tha charasteristic mentiones make the geography one usefull tool for the world and also for the prevention of potential natural risk as constructions in sites sith hydrological antecedents the climate change and how it affects the ecosystems, so it also serves us as a society to elaborate plans to curb greenhouse gas emissions that are accelerating the climate process.

Post 5: A photograph and it's story.

 Hi, this is a photo that I take a few years ago in a trip and I really like it because it represent the vegetation there is in the south of Chile that is very diverse and full of life. In the picture, that plant that appears are mostly ferns and in the middle there is a "chilco" with his red flowers that are very eye-catching. I really like the plants and for that reason when I go on a trip I always take pictures to the flore and fauna that I see near to me and in that way I keep them so I can see them from time to time and remember when I was in those nice places.

I don't really remember the date of the picture but I remember that it was on a summer traveling with some friends in the south of the country, in that moment we were going to a viewpoint from where you can see a volcano and along the way we were surrounded by big trees and vegetation. Really, I love this. Every time that I can I try to travel because it's so entertaining and I get to know new places and learn more.

Post 4: A meal or food you really like.

 Hi, before saying which is my favourite food, I want to say that it was really hard to me to pick only one because I'm a really fan of the food so I enjoy a lot of preparations. Among this the ones I like the most are the sushi, the japanesse food, lasagna, potatoes in all of his forms, but in this moment my favourite food is the hot dog.

The hot dog is a bread who has sausage and other ingredients like tomatoe, the avocado, green sauce, chucrut, american sauce and there is a lot of posibilities of other ingredients, that's why I like it because it is really versatility, for example, you can incorporate mushrooms, green beans, fries or also make an ass seitan or soy's meat because I'm vegan.

Regarding the impacts that the hot dogs has in the health I think that if you eat a lot of them it could do wrong as all excess, but if you eat from time to time it isn't bad.

I take of say that there is a local who name is "Completo Feliz" where they sell a lot of types of vegan hot dogs that are made with love like the one in the picture. If yo really like the hot dogs I recommend you go try one when the quarantine is over.

Post 3: My favourite piece of technology.

 Hi, my favourite piece is not a typical technology's piece like a smart phone, computer or TV, but it is the bike. The bike, according to me, it's one of the best inventions of humanity since it allow us to move around the city, exercise our body, make us happy, discover new places, enjoy with friend, and doesn't pollute like other means of transport. For this reason, I think that this is all that makes me love the bikes.

I don't remember exactly the year I had and rode on my first bike, but I was a young child and I rode around my neighbourhood. Even before COVID-19, I used my bike constantly, but now I go out less to rode my bike. 

Finally, it is a technological invention that keep us healthy and alive and also it is a weapon of independence since you can move wherever you want. My life without using it is more boring and when I don't use it and I have to go somewhere I always think that I could have gotten anywhere faster. Definitely, I'm a biker lover.

Post 2: Why did I choose my major?

 When I was a child, there was a lot of professions that I liked, for example, be a fireman, a musician, an actor, a futbolist, a cheff, but things I most want was lived with a lot animals in mountain's forest and rives.

I decided to study geography because I love the nature and the cicles of it, the glaciers formations, rivers, forests, mountains, lakes, volcanoes, etc. Is very entertaining learn how all this cicles work and results. Also is important protect the ecosystems because actually the extractivism is destroying the native forest and living beings that contain and polluting water courses. Additionally, to climate change we are running out of water and fertile soil. For this, like Mononoke Hime says, save the forest. 

My experience at the universe has been very good, I loke a lot this major whereby I didn´t find any course that I don´t like. At the same time, the excursions has been very useful experiences, besides being very entertaining. The only thing boring at the moment has been the pandemic situation and online classes.
